No Pink Golf Today

Today, the golf course I play my Pink Golf at, is under a foot of snow, needless to say the place is deserted with only a few staff maintaining the shop to sell those Pink Golf items. As if anyone would be foolish enough to take to their cars on the unsafe roads.

Yes, we are in the middle of a really cold snap of weather, but it got me thinking, what if I didn’t play golf, what else would I be doing in my spare time. I couldn’t envisage not playing as I love the game.

Golf for me is a very important aspect of my week and I love to meet up with my friends at least once a week and go out and play the course. It is always a challenge no matter how many times you have played it. It is easy to make the same mistakes over and over again, even though you say to yourself you will remember not to do that particular shot again. I do it all the time.

A case in point is that recently some new ladies came to play golf at our sister course, due to damage which had occurred at their own course which had made it unplayable. The ladies were sure that their handicaps would come down rather quickly, because in their view, the golf course wasn’t as challenging as their own golf course.

Within a month of playing the course their opinions had changed because every course has its own challenges and no matter how good a golfer you are, if you don’t have the right focus and attitude your game will not improve to the degree you want..

You can also be distracted on the golf course by what is going on around you which can also take your focus away. Sometimes ladies are even distracted when playing golf with the guys and tend to rush their preparation resulting in not achieving the shot they wanted.

You will notice that men on the golf course generally take a lot more time over their preparation than us ladies and this is particularly relevant when it comes to putting and chipping around the greens. You will see them analysing their putts until they feel they are ready to finally putt their shot. After their preparation the result could be a par, or even better, a birdie. Sometimes this can be a little frustrating for us but if it gives the desired result, then maybe this is something we can take on board but in a little less time perhaps!!

You can look forward to more Pink Golf stories when I shovel myself out of the snow and get to my Pink Golf course. I will be using my pink golf balls so that I can see them more clearly.

happy golfing
Elizabeth
